How To Restore Version History in Share Drive and Sharepoint

1. Share drive (Z: W:)
1. Locate the Item
Open File Explorer, find the specificĀ folder you need to restore, and right-click on it.
(Note: If you are trying to recover a deleted file, right-click the parent folder where the item used to be).
2. Open Previous Versions
Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
In the Properties window, click on the Previous Versions tab.
3. Choose a Snapshot
You will see a list of available historical versions organized by Date and Time. Click on the version or snapshot you want to restore.
- To Preview: Click Open to browse inside the shadow copy to verify it is the correct version.
- To Restore: Click Copy to save the older version to a location of your choice (Highly Recommended). You can also click Restore to immediately replace your current active file with the older version.
2. SharePoint/OneDrive
- Open Library: Navigate to your SharePoint/OneDrive document library.
- Select File: Hover over the file name and click the three vertical dots (Show actions menu).
- Open History: Click Version History from the dropdown menu.
- Open Menu: Hover over the date of the desired version and click the down arrow.
- Perform Action: Select View to check it, Restore to make it current, or Delete to remove it.
